Will this iconic band get a new singer? They’re ‘working on it,’ member says
News arose last week that a favorite in the hair metal scene might be getting a new lead singer soon.
Now there's a new update to this news.
Blabbermouth reports how Skid Row guitarist Scotti Hill was at the annual Primary Wave Music pre-Grammy party on Sunday when he was asked by The Music Universe about this potential new vocalist.
"Yes, we are working on that," Hill answered in response. "We're gonna really get it kicking here in a few weeks.
"Let me see — in about a week we're gonna make an announcement for a real push, and we're gonna get it done and we're gonna get the right person for the job and we're gonna get back out there."
According to 95.9 The Rat , Skid Row hasn't had a permanent lead singer in the two years since Erik Grönwall left the group. Grönwall suffered from health issues following a battle with leukemia.
"We had a really good thing going with Erik," bassist Rachel Bolan said told the "Rockstrap" podcast last week. "I think the road was just too much for him and his past health issues."
York County native Lzzy Hale of Halestorm briefly stepped into the role. She made her Skid Row exit in June 2024.
"It's not an easy job," Scotti added. "It's not an easy job, really.
"I mean, that stuff is really hard to sing. And it's gotta be the right chemistry, because in our band we get along really great. We get along really well. We're family, and we need somebody to be family with us."
Thus, the search for the next full-time Skid Row singer continues.
