Old Crow Medicine Show announced for Stiefel Theatre

Old Crow Medicine Show will perform May 14 at the Stiefel Theatre in Salina.

The band began as a street busking group in 1998, performing in New York and Canada, according to the announcement, gaining recognition after folk icon Doc Watson invited them to play at his festival, MerleFest.

The band has since been inducted into the Grand Ole Opry and has won two Grammy Awards, Best Folk Album for "Remedy" in 2014 and Best Long Form Music Video for "Big Easy Express" in 2013.

The single "Wagon Wheel" received double-platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America in 2019 for selling more than 2 million copies. The band's debut album, "O.C.M.S.," has been certified gold, indicating 500,000 copies sold.

Old Crow Medicine Show's latest album, "Jubilee," released in August 2023, was nominated for a Grammy Award.

"If this is any indication of what Old Crow Medicine Show still has in store so many recordings in its career, we should count ourselves lucky." NPR Music says.
