A pop superstar is set to release his first new album in 10 years.
"My album is done," Bruno Mars nonchalantly announced on Monday. The LP, titled "The Romantic," will be released on Feb. 27.
Mars revealed the album cover Wednesday and said that the first single will be released this Friday, sparking widespread excitement online.
"It's going to be a banger, as are all Bruno Mars' songs," one Facebook user commented.
"Yes can't wait, I've been waiting for this album for so long, can't wait to hear the new vibes," another fan wrote.
"I was still single when you released your last album. I already have 3 kids now!!!" a third said.
Other fans joked that Mars' new music will help him get out of gambling debts , a rumor that casino operator MGM Resorts International has denied. Mars even joked about it when he performed "APT." with Rosé and her K-pop group Blackpink in Los Angeles last year.
"Almost out of debt BehhhhhBehhhhh!!! Preciate You ROSAAAAYYYYYY!!!!" Mars wrote on Instagram .
"The Romantic" will be Mars' fourth solo album and first since "24K Magic" was released in 2016. He still kept busy over the past decade, releasing a Grammy-winning album in 2021 with Anderson .Paak under the name Silk Sonic; collaborating on hit singles like "Die with a Smile" (with Lady Gaga), "Please Me" (with Cardi B), "Fat Juicy & Wet" (with Sexxy Red) and "APT." (with Rosé); and performing at a Las Vegas residency .
Mars, whose real name is Peter Gene Hernandez, is one of the best-selling music artists of all time with his mix of pop, hip-hop, funk and R&B/soul on hits like "Just the Way You Are," "Grenade," "Locked Out of Heaven," "Treasure," "24K Magic," "That's What I Like," "Talking to the Moon," "Marry You," and "When I Was Your Man." His collaborations include "Nothin' On You" (with B.o.B.), "Billionaire" (with Travie McCoy), "Young, Wild & Free" (with Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa), "Leave the Door Open" (as Silk Sonic with Anderson .Paak) and the 2015 smash "Uptown Funk" (with Mark Ronson).
The 40-year-old singer remains popular today, averaging 115 million monthly listeners on Spotify. The 16-time Grammy Award winner, who first started performing as a child Elvis impersonator, also drew a then-record crowd of 35,000 to his New York State Fair concert in 2011 , months after releasing his debut album.
