The Super Bowl is the biggest sporting event each year in the U.S., and its halftime show is one of the most-watched annual music performance .
Super Bowl halftime performers are chosen by the NFL in collaboration with Roc Nation, an entertainment company, often selecting the biggest names in the music industry.
This year's pick for the Super Bowl Halftime show, Latin trap and reggaeton musician Bad Bunny , seemed to spark controversary, resulting in the creation of an alternative halftime show.
Bad Bunny Super Bowl LX Halftime Show performance controversy
Bad Bunny is set to perform at the Super Bowl LX halftime show on Feb. 8, but critics have pushed back against the idea of him performing since he was announced as headliner.
The opposition to Bad Bunny's performing is largely because his music is almost exclusively in Spanish, with some political figures expressing they had never heard of him and, therefor, he does not appeal to an American audience.
Bad Bunny, however, is from the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico and is one of the most-streamed artists in the world, achieving the title of "Spotify's Global Top Artist" four times.

Teddy Swims will be performing at the Super Bowl Tailgate at 3:50 p.m. EST. This performance will be streaming live on Peacock.
Super Bowl Opening Ceremony performances will start at 6 p.m. EST and feature Green Day, Charlie Puth, Brandi Carlile and Coco Jones. The opening ceremony will be streaming live on NBC and Peacock.
The Super Bowl LX Halftime show will also be streaming live on NBC and Peacock.

The right-wing political organization Turning Point USA is putting on an alternative halftime show, The All-American Halftime Show , during the Super Bowl.
This halftime show will air on Feb. 8 at 8 p.m. EST and will be available for live viewing on Turning Point USA's YouTube, X and Rumble social media pages. The show will also air on conservative news channels, including Daily Wire+, Real America's Voice, TBN, Charge!, National News Desk, NTD and OAN News.
The show will feature performances by Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett.
