Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds’ Pianist Conway Savage Recovering From Surgery for Brain Tumor

Fans who sawNick Cave& The Bad Seeds on tour this summer may have noticed that keyboardist Conway Savage was missing from the group's live line-up for the first time in his nearly 30 years with the band. In a note on their official site , the group revealed that Savage has been struggling with a major health issue that required surgery and rest. 

"Many of you have noticed the absence of Conway Savage from this Summer's North American tour and from the current European tour. Conway was diagnosed with a brain tumour and underwent an operation just before the start of the North American shows," read the note. "The operation was largely a success and he is currently at home in Australia undergoing follow-up treatment. I'm sure you'll all join us in sending our beloved Conway lots of love & very best wishes. We are missing him enormously." Savage joined the legendary Australian band in 1990 and has released a number of solo albums and EPs, including 2010 Pussy's Bow EP.

The Bad Seeds' European tour in support of their 2016 Skeleton Tree album continues through a pair of dates in Tel Aviv, Israel in November.
