'Off the Vine' food, wine event returns to Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens Aug. 18

There's nothing quite like a summer evening spent enjoying a variety of wines and appetizers on the beautiful grounds at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens .

Stan Hywet will host "Off the Vine: An Evening Pairing of Food and Wine" from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 18, with the festive tastings happening throughout the historic gardens surrounding the manor.

The evening will kick off with guests receiving a souvenir tasting glass at champagne stations near the entrance. Guests will then sample varietals at wine stations throughout the gardens.

Wine pours, provided by Heidelberg Distributing Company , will be complemented by appetizers from Acme Fresh Market , Nosh Creative Catering , A Taste of Excellence , Todaro's and Village Catering Company . Also included will be cheeses by Waxed Crescent Grazing Company and dessert samples by Tiffany's Bakery .

The evening will include local musicians performing throughout the grounds. A pop-up retail wine shop also will be offered.

Guests will park in the Great Meadow at 714 N. Portage Path. Cost for the event is $75 or $60 for members. Guests must be 21 or older.
