‘An Opry Salute to Ray Charles’ Featuring Darius Rucker, Boyz II Men & Chris Young Set for Oct. 8
An Opry Salute to Ray Charles will tape Oct. 8 at Nashville's legendary Grand Ole Opry.
Hosted by Opry memberDarius Ruckerand featuringBoyz II Men,Cam,Brett Eldredge, Leela James ,Lukas Nelson,Allen Stone,Travis TrittandChris Young, the concert will pay homage to to the iconic R&B artist, airing on PBS in November.

The PBS special will also feature behind-the-scenes footage, a visit to the Ray Charles Library and rare video of the legendary artist, courtesy of the Ray Charles Foundation.
In 1962, Charles recorded the groundbreaking Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music , which featured the singer interpreting country, folk and western standards, such asHank Williams' "Hey, Good Lookin'" and "You Win Again," as well as Don Gibson 's "I Can't Stop Loving You." The album spent 14 weeks atop theBillboard 200chart (then named Billboard Top LPs). Charles performed at the Grand Ole Opry in 1963.
"When you think of musical legends, you think of Ray Charles," said Rucker, in a statement. "To host this great event celebrating his legacy at the Opry makes it even more special."
