Panthers rookie LB Trevin Wallace says he performed 'explicit' song for teammates
Well, Trevin Wallace may have that dawg in him after all.
The Carolina Panthers linebacker spoke with reporters following Tuesday's practice. He was asked if he's already gone through with his rookie performance, a summer tradition for the team's first-year players.
Wallace confirmed that he has performed, but was extremely reluctant to reveal his song choice.
"It was crazy, it was crazy," a bashful Wallace said as he refused to name the tune. "Well, I had one song. It was 'Bump n' Grind' by R. Kelly. But then I had another one. I knew I was gonna top it off. When I did that, they started laughing 'cause it was funny.
"I had some veterans tell me to sing that song. Because the rookie thing, everybody sang R&B. I want everybody to laugh because we was deep into training camp. So I did the song, and everybody was like, 'Woah, woah, woah!' and was laughing."
Carolina's third-round pick would then give some props to head coach Dave Canales, who apparently also got up in front of the team to show off his pipes.
"I think it was 'Three Little Birds,'" Wallace said of Canales' song choice. "I ain't gonna lie. I got a little scared. He almost sounded better me, but he didn't."
Hopefully for Wallace, his review of Canales' talent doesn't impact his playing time.
