PB Catch to unveil daytime service of lunch, afternoon bar menu on Monday
For the first time since it debuted 12 years ago this month, PB Catch, a Sunrise Avenue seafood restaurant and raw bar known for its happy hour and dinner menu, is launching daytime dining service.
A new lunch menu starting Monday will be offered daily, except Sunday, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Lunch will be followed by an afternoon bar menu available after 2:30 p.m.
The daytime menus feature a variety of fare — from large plates to light bites — emphasizing seafood while also offering meat and vegetable dishes, a mix PB Catch has offered since it debuted in December 2011.
Along with raw-bar items, lunch dishes will include gazpacho ($14), rock shrimp salad ($25), oyster po'boy ($21), grilled chicken sandwich ($22), Cobb salad ($28) and a lobster roll ($38).
Chef de cuisine Kevin Sawyer, who joined PB Catch last season, conceived the new lunch dishes. Some longtime dinner favorites also will be offered in the day, such as fish and chips ($28) and linguini with clams ($29).

Both indoor and outdoor seating are available.
Why launch lunch and afternoon menus now? "A combination of reasons," managing partner Thierry Beaud told the Daily News.
In addition to a "strong" staff to support expansion, a change in local dining habits warrants attention, he said.
"There's a definite trend of people eating dinner earlier and earlier, even preferring to indulge in a copious lunch rather than having dinner at all," Beaud said.
Inveterate late dinner-eaters can still enjoy lunch or opt for a small plate from PB Catch's new afternoon bar menu to tide them over, he said.
He also noted a third reason behind adding daytime service: Parking issues on Sunrise Avenue are expected to improve.
Parking spaces on Sunrise Avenue for years have been one-hour-only during the day. That has challenged visitors who want to linger and led to area employees and others moving their cars from space to space every 60 minutes, Beaud said.
"Soon our street will be metered parking," he said, as Sunrise Avenue is poised to be part of the town's expansion of pay-by-phone parking through the ParkMobile app.
What date that will take effect is still to be determined as the issue of parking remains a priority this season, Town Council member Bobbie Lindsay said.
Beaud, a PB Catch founder-owner, is a longtime restaurateur who began his career managing such island restaurants as Cafe L'Europe and Flagler Steakhouse.
When PB Catch debuted in 2011 with white-leather banquettes, chrome and mahogany paneling — design elements evoking a modern yacht — he envisioned a "neighborhood restaurant" offering consistently delicious seasonal and sustainably sourced seafood and other options.
Mission accomplished, according to Palm Beach Food & Wine Festival founder and organizer David Sabin.
"I'm really looking forward to trying lunch at PB Catch," Sabin told the Daily News. "I think anyone who has had the fresh fish sandwich there knows how delicious it is and it's exactly what I'll order when I have lunch at PB Catch for the first time."
