Who Should Play Rivers Cuomo on Weezer TV Show?
Weezer already has a cruise to its name, so at this point, a TV show should be a no-brainer, right? With the band's new studio album approaching ( Everything Will Be Alright in the End is due Oct. 7 ), fans will also be treated to a Rivers Cuomo -inspired comedy series .
Cuomo and Psych creator Steve Franksput their heads together and came up with a single-camera comedy that's inspired by Cuomo's real-life misadventures — a 30-something rock star who needs a break from fame goes back to school and befriends a bunch of like-minded misfits. The 20th Century Fox production is called DeTour , and has landed at Fox with a put pilot commitment.

How Fred Armisen Teamed with The Clash for Funny Or Die
1. Fred Armisen
This just in: this Armisen guy really likes indie rock. From his Ian Rubbish Sex Pistols parody on SNL to his acting alongside rocker Carrie Brownsteinon Portlandia , Armisen has planty on his résumé to support a convincing Cuomo role. And the glasses!
2. Adam Brody
Could Seth Cohen play a good Rivers Cuomo? Well, Rivers is no Ben Gibbard, but he'd probably still be down.
3. Mark Duplass
The League 's Pete Eckhart used to front the Polyvinyl Records-signed band Volcano, I'm Still Excited!!so he's certainly got the mid-30s indie-rock vibe going.
4. Tobey Maguire
Tobey might be a little too handsome for the part, but why not stroke Rivers' ego a bit?
5. Zachary Quinto
Leonard Nimoyhad to approve Quinto's role as Spock in the Star Trek reboot; would Rivers approve of him fronting the made-for-TV Weezer?
