Entertainer/author/activist Oakley returns to the Pop Shop Podcast for a third visit, this time joined by his Psychobabble podcast co-host (and real-life bestie) Kuhl. In our rollicking chat, the guys discuss the newest endeavors of their favorite pop divas (Lady GagaandKaty Perry, respectively) as well as Psychobabble , which recently expanded to a video podcast via the Fullscreen app .
Oakley also says that he is "eager" to continue his work with former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama. In the past, Oakley worked with Michelle on her Reach Higher and Better Make Room higher education initiatives, and with Barack in raising awareness of the Affordable Care Act. He also participated in the Obama administration's White House Digital Influencer Summit in January, alongside our second guest this week, AJR!
Pop trio AJR (brothers Adam, Jack and Ryan Met) also join the Pop Shop team to chat about their rising hit single "Weak" (it climbs from No. 16 to No. 7 on theMarch 4-dated Bubbling Under Hot 100chart) and their new tour, which kicks off Wednesday (Feb. 22) in Orlando. The guys also talk about how they are working on their next album, writing for other artists (likeMajor LazerandShawn Mendes) and howSiahas helped guide their career. Also, the guys discuss their visit to the White House, their work with the It's On Us campaign (launched by the Obama administration) to help fight sexual assault (especially on college campuses) and writing a song for the initiative.
