Prime Minister Theresa May & Manchester Mayor Respond to ‘Appalling Terrorist Attack’ at Ariana Grande U.K. Concert
British prime minister Theresa May has issued a statement after an explosion at anAriana Grandeconcert in Manchester on Monday (May 22) nightkilled at least 22 and injured 59.
"We are working to establish the full details of what is being treated by the police as an appalling terrorist attack. All our thoughts are with the victims and the families of those who have been affected," said May in a statement, as the Guardian reports.

Earlier, Greater Manchester police stated they are treating this as a "terrorist incident until police know otherwise." Meanwhile NBC reports "multiple U.S. officials say U.K. authorities suspect Manchester incident was conducted by a suicide bomber" and according to CNN the bomber's body has now been identified.
Manchester mayor Andy Burnham tweeted his condolences to families who lost loved ones and praised the city's emergency services, calling this a "terrible night for our great city."
As well, minister of state for security Ben Wallace issued a statement calling for vigilance and imploring citizens to report anything suspicious.
"In the light of the attack in Manchester tonight, please be vigilant and if you see anything suspicious call the anti-terrorist hotline: 0800 789123," he said . "My thoughts are with all the victims of the incident tonight and our emergency services who are out there tending wounded and keeping us safe."
