Apparently, Robert Pattinson made some huge decisions about his character's personality in Twilight.

Robert revealed to The Howard Stern Show that he was actually almost fired for making Edward Cullen *too serious* instead of "happy and fun." He told us, "Everyone was like it 'No, [the character] should be happy and having fun!' That's what people want." Although,"Now the whole series is known as a brooding thing," he remembers the producers and directors actually highlighting parts of the script where Edward smiled because he was taking the role *too seriously,* and not as they initially imagined.

LOL.

He even explained that once it got to the point that he thought he might be fired for his inability to make Edward a smiley and happy vampire. His agents actually had to start visiting the set during filming to help him smile more.

He was responsive to this criticism explaining that he "came back after with a big smile," and alas, the Edward Cullen we are all in love with was created.

So Edward wasn't actually suppose to be *so* dark and stormy?!! We will never watch Twilight the same again.
