Stormzy Calls Out Prime Minister Theresa May, Performs ‘Big for Your Boots’ & ‘Blinded by Your Grace’ to Close 2018 Brit Awards
Stormzy— who emotionally took home awards for both British male solo artist as well as album of the year — showed exactly why he's the king of grime with a medley performance to close the 2018 Brit Awards.
Drenched in rain and suited in the usual all-black sweatsuit, he sang "Blinded by Your Grace Pt. 2," in front of a wall of masked men, in matching aesthetics to the Gang Signs and Prayers album art.

However rather than going into the rapped verses of the song, he paused and broke into what seemed to be a politically charged unreleased cut. The song included lyrics calling out Prime Minister Theresa May for the Grenwell Tower fire tragedy that happened in West London this summer, killing 71 people and causing political unrest throughout the country. The song included shout-outs to the black women who raised him, something he also mentioned while accepting his album of the year award.
He ended with the wildly energetic single "Big for Your Boots," which was (of course) a huge crowd pleaser.
His debut album Gang Signs and Prayers topped the Billboard U.K. Album Chartsin March after its release in late February. During his speech for album of the year, he thanked God (a recurring motif on the album) and explained how he gave his everything to make the album: "I've never given my entire being, my entire emotion…I didn't have anything left after."
While it's his first year to win awards at the show, it's certainly not his first time at the show. He delivered a memorable surprise appearance with Brit Awards favoriteEd Sheeranlast year for his " Shape of You " remix. He also appeared as a then-lesser-known "extra" on stage withKanye Westthree years prior for his grime-inspired performance of " All Day ."
