Studebaker and History Museum hold reception for 'South Bend: The Next 100 Years' exhibit

Tyler Foley of South Bend won first place in the “South Bend: The Next 100 Years” poster contest sponsored by The History Museum and Studebaker National Museum. The naming of the winning posters was made in a ceremony Monday, Aug. 28, 2023, in the auditorium at the campus shared by the museums in South Bend.

SOUTH BEND — The Studebaker National Museum and The History Museum present a reception for the "South Bend: The Next 100 Years" poster exhibit from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Nov. 2 at 897 Thomas St.

The event launches the sale of copies of the posters that were awarded the top three prizes: First Place by Tyler Foley, Second Place by Steven Sult and Third Place by Bob Green.

Posters of the 10 finalists are on display in "South Bend: The Next 100 Years Poster Design Contest" through Nov. 5 in a hall shared by the Studebaker National Museum and The History Museum.

The idea for the "South Bend: The Next 100 Years" poster design contest was sparked by a poster that was first presented as the cover of a survey booklet designed in 1922.

Steven Sult of Niles won second place in the “South Bend: The Next 100 Years” poster contest sponsored by The History Museum and Studebaker National Museum. The naming of the winning posters was made in a ceremony Monday, Aug. 28, 2023, in the auditorium at the campus shared by the museums in South Bend.

That poster captured a sense of pride about how far South Bend had come as well as optimism of where it hoped to grow.

Light refreshments will be served.
