Swensons Drive-In announces opening date for new Oakley location. Here's when 🍔

An Ohio-based drive-in chain that has served burgers, sides and handspun milkshakes since 1934 is finally opening its second Greater Cincinnati location this month.

Swensons Drive-In , based in Akron, will open a new location at 3628 Madison Road in Oakley on Monday, Aug. 14, according to a social media post from the restaurant .

To celebrate its grand opening, Swensons will be giving away free food for a year to the first 10 cars and one free burger or sandwich to the first 100 cars. The chain will also give away "Taste of Swencinnati" gift cards to every customer all week long at both Greater Cincinnati locations. The gift cards are redeemable for a free double cheeseburger, regular shake and order of potato teezers.

Swensons announced plans to open in Clermont County  in January 2022. The popular burger chain opened its first Cincinnati area store on Ohio Pike in Union Township in December 2021 and has been expanding in other Ohio markets over the past several years, including Cleveland and Columbus.

The new Swensons location is part of Oakley Crossings Holdings LLC's $9 million project, including three to five additional restaurants, a coffee shop and other retail tenants. The development would join several new projects coming to Oakley, including the redevelopment of the  former Kenner Toys site, which is being converted into a massive mixed-use development.
