Teksupport Launches Teksupport Records & Drops Debut Release ‘Transient’ by Marco Effe: Exclusive
Teksupport, the Brooklyn-based promoter has established itself as one of the city's most reliable channels of underground music in recent years, hosting international talents like Carl Cox and Solomun on the regular.
Much of company's success stems from their ability to attract coveted European house and techno brands to the U.S. — institutions like Time Warp and Circoloco, which, as recent as five years prior, had yet to step foot Stateside.

"I don't want to say we're replicating Europe, because that's hard to do," founder Rob Toma says. "But I think we're definitely giving the American version." It's a methodology which, if to be judged by the success of past events, is translating emphatically.
Now Teksupport is looking to expand their foothold in the scene with the launch of their official label, Teksupport Records. Much like the function of their events, the imprint will serve to help expose international underground talent to the US audience.
"My idea is to work with a lot of great up and coming producers and give them a platform to introduce them in the American market," Toma explains. The label will predominantly be vinyl-only, with the first release set to arrive Friday from Italian techno stalwart Marco Effe.
Based in Berlin, Effe is a natural fit for the label. Having served as a resident at Berlin's legendary Watergate, Effe is a seasoned DJ — not to mention a mainstay producer on purist techno imprints like Etruria Beat and Planet Rhythm.
"I've known Marco for many years now," Toma says. "He's one of the artists that I want to start to groom in this market. For us, rolling out this vinyl, we wanted to have him be the forefront and the first release."
Effe will bring a four-track EP to the label, including the track "Transient," which Billboard Dance is exclusively premiering. The track is a serious techno number: the kind of minimal, analog-sharpened concoction, clearly designed for pummelling dark rooms on a well-tuned sound system.
Ultimately, for Toma, the launch of Teksupport Records reflects a larger ambition: "As an American promoter, my ultimate goal is to take Teksupport to Europe," Toma says. "And the way to do that is by music."
