'Today' Announces Major Shakeup as Jenna Bush Hager's Future Is Clarified
- Craig Melvin has been announced as Hoda Kotb's replacement on Today, but the fourth hour of the show will be renamed Jenna & Friends with a rotating cast of co-hosts filling in until a permanent successor is hired.
Although Craig Melvin was officially announced as Hoda Kotb 'sreplacement on Today following months of fan speculation, Kotb's post on Today With Hoda & Jenna will remain vacant—for the time being.
On Wednesday, Nov. 14, Jenna Bush Hager revealed that the fourth hour of Today will get a new name following Kotb's departure in January 2025: Jenna & Friends. Until a permanent successor is hired, the program will feature a rotating cast of co-hosts filling in, Hager explained.
"Here's the thing," the 42-year-old TV personality began. "Hoda, you know this. I'm a serial monogamist. I met Henry Hager20 years ago, and that was it. I haven't dated in 20 years. I met Hoda...I fell so madly in love with you so quickly, and we've had these years together, which have been some of the best of my entire life."

"OK, but here's the thing," Hager continued. "It's time for me to get out there, guys. Y'all know the new trend, roster dating. That's what I'm going to be doing. I'm single, not at home, but in this work life. I am single, and I am ready to mingle."
She added, "So, this show is going to be all about friendship. We have so many amazing guests and friends and family that are part of the DNA of this show, and they are going to be coming along for the ride."

Fans on social media had high hopes for the next phase of the show—as well as plenty of suggestions for Hager's potential co-hosts.
