‘The Traitors’ Reality Competition Series Win Delivers First Top Program Emmy For Peacock
- Peacock's competition series The Traitors won its first top program Emmy, with Alan Cumming taking home the trophy for Reality Competition Host last year.
The Traitors has delivered Peacock its first top program win at the Emmys.
The win for the Peacock competition series comes after Alan Cumming won the trophy for Reality Competition Host at the Creative Emmys last year’s Guest Actress in a Comedy Series win for Poker Face’s Judith Light.

“Thank you to the Academy. We are so grateful because we are a new show, and you guys, you know when you like something, you tend to stick to it, which is good quality, but we appreciate it all the more,” Cumming said, accepting the Emmy.
Cumming also thanked Peacock “for their kindness and support,” adding, “It’s so great to be part of a new streaming service. We Love them.”
The Traitors was nominated against The Amazing Race , Top Chef , The Voice, and RuPaul’s Drag Race , the most awarded reality program in Emmy his tory. It is also the second time The Academy has awarded a streamer having recognized Prime Video for Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls in 2022.
Cumming also thanked everyone at the castle where they film The Traitors giving a shoutout to “the cast and crew who work so hard and get so wet by the Scottish weather.”
“I also want to thank Scotland. I owe it everything and it’s such a beautiful co-star,” Cumming said. “I also want to thank Holland because I don’t think we thank Holland enough because so many of these shows, like The Traitors, were first made in Holland. They obviously have something in the water, so let’s find it. Let’s drink it and all America’s problems will be solved.”
