Trapper Schoepp to play The Grand and more Oshkosh can't-miss events
OSHKOSH - Whether you enjoy a good concert, getting out for a night-time paddle on the Fox River or meeting some local authors, there's something to get you out of the house this week.
Here are your can't-miss events happening in the community this week.
1. Trapper Schoepp to play The Grand Oct. 5
Milwaukee-based singer-songwriter Trapper Schoepp brings his mix of Americana/Folk music to The Grand Oshkosh Oct. 5.
According to The Grand website, in 2019, Schoepp published a long-lost song with Bob Dylan called "On, Wisconsin," making him the youngest musician to share a co-writing credit with the Nobel Prize laureate.
The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. at 100 High Ave. with opener Amelia Ford . Tickets start at $28 at thegrandoshkosh.org .

2. NEWP hosts a night paddle in Oshkosh
Join the Northeast Wisconsin Paddlers for an Oshkosh at Night Paddle Sept. 29. Launch will be at 6 p.m. from 326 Michigan St., Oshkosh. Start gathering at 5:30 p.m.
This event is open to the public. The fee is $15 per person and $10 for NEWP members. Free for youth ages 15 and younger with adult.
Those who plan to attend should be aware there is power boat traffic and it will be dark. Take a white light for safe navigation.

3. Solve the puzzle of Kip's Grand Escape at The Grand
New signage was added to The Grand Oshkosh building March 25, 2021, in Oshkosh. In addition to local events, national acts are scheduled throughout the season too.
The Grand Oshkosh will host many Halloween-themed events in October and kicks things off with Kip's Grand Escape on Oct. 1 and 2.
The event is an escape room-style scavenger hunt. A spirit named "Kip" resides in a doll kept in the theater. The doll is usually in a display case, but has managed to escape. The goal is to solve the clues and put Kip back in her case. You can work in groups of two to 10 and have 30 minutes to solve the case.
Choose your time slot between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Oct. 1 and 3 p.m. to midnight Oct. 2. Tickets are $15 per person. Reserve online at thegrandoshkosh.org .
4. Meet local authors La Point and Daugherty at Caramel Crisp
The Caramel Crisp Bookstore , 200 City Center, has two author events coming up this week.
Local author and Oshkosh historian Ron La Point will be at the shop 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 28 with his latest books, "Women of Oshkosh" and "Oshkosh Veterans of Foreign Wars."
Oshkosh author Jane Daugherty will sign her memoir, "Shadows in the Night," from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept 30.
Daugherty tells the stories of her family, life and world travels. She has lived in the Aleutian Islands, worked as a tap dancer and a drummer in a polka band, and talks about living with her 85-year-old mother.

5. Senior Expo is Oct. 3 at Oshkosh Convention Center
The Time of Your Life Senior Expo is set for Oct. 3 at the Oshkosh Convention Center, 2 N. Main St. It is scheduled to run 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
More than 85 exhibitors will offer senior products and services, health screenings, a flu and vaccine clinic, and seminars. There also will be door prizes and giveaways.
