Beloved Sitcom Coming to Netflix After Being Canceled 12 Years Ago
- Netflix has seen changes in its catalogue with the end of Stranger Things and the addition of Black-ish, while viewers in five countries lost The Big Bang Theory and Friends.
Over the past few months Netflix has seen its catalogue of shows undergo massive change with the end of its hit show Stranger Things while also attempting to maintain its stranglehold on viewers with a plethora of situational comedies.
Viewers in five countries (Germany, Italy, South Africa, Switzerland, United Kingdom) lost hit s hows TheBig Bang Theory and Friends as the 2025 calendar came to an end, while those in the United States will be gaining hit ABC sitcom Black-ish later this month .
The addition of Black-ish comes following the successful addition of other Disney-owned properties like Lost , Prison Break , and How I Met Your Mother over the last couple of years.
Another Former ABC Show Coming to Netflix
While Black-ish waits in the wings over the next two weeks, Netflix subscribers learned another former hit ABC sitcom is also coming to the streaming giant. What's On Netflix revealed Suburgatory is coming to Netflix in just under a month.
"We can confirm that the complete series (Seasons 1-3 – all 57 episodes) of Suburgatory will be available to stream on Netflix US starting Friday, February 13th, 2026," What's On Netflix wrote .
What's 'Suburgatory' All About?
Suburgatory focuses on a young woman ripped form the big city into suburb life.
"When single dad George Altman finds a box of condoms on the nightstand of his daughter, Tessa, he doesn't know what to do at first. Eventually, he decides to move with Tessa from a New York City apartment to a house in the suburbs," the synopsis reads . "It's culture shock in the beginning, especially for Tessa, but the big-haired moms and caffeine-chugging kids slowly start to become endearing. George's knee-jerk reaction may work out better than he had imagined -- experiencing the transition together helps dad and daughter grow closer."
The show received glowing remarks from critics and fans alike as its first season received an 83% on Rotten Tomatoes. That was the worst score the series would record in its three seasons with Season 2 getting a 92% and the third and final season reaching 100% on the ratings platform.
