An appearance on a CBS police drama set in Boston is up for grabs for one "Irish-looking" man.

So long as you can portray a dead person "in a realistic and respectful manner," the network said.

CBS issued a casting call this week for the role in its upcoming television show "Boston Blue," the latest in the genre of gritty Boston police productions that have proved popular on the big screen.

The series, starring Donnie Wahlberg, premieres Friday night at 10 p.m. It spins off from his series "Blue Bloods," which wrapped up last year after 14 seasons.

For a scene in an upcoming episode, CBS is seeking "Irish-looking male actors," the network said in a casting call.

"The role involves portraying a deceased character — perfect for someone looking to gain on-set experience in a high-quality drama production," it said.

The role calls for a man aged 48 to 50s.
