CT's Jackson Olson eliminated from 'Dancing with the Stars' in Week 7

Just in time for Halloween , "Dancing with the Stars" had its scariest Season 35 episode yet – "Horror Movie Night."

Each of the 10 remaining couples performed dances inspired by iconic horror movies like "Saw," "Black Swan," "Sinners" and "The Lost Boys," all to be judged by world-renowned guest judge Shirley Ballas.

For two couples, the "horror movie" theme came to life, as two stars were eliminated in Episode 8 following no elimination during Episode 7's "Dedication Night." One of these eliminated stars was Connecticut's own Jackson Olson, a Savannah Bananas player from New Milford.

For "Horror Movie Night," Olson and his partner Emma Slater took the ballroom floor dressed as a pair of Jokers for a contemporary routine to Frank Sinatra's "That's Life," inspired by the movie "Joker."

The judges all praised Olson's commitment to the "Joker" role, with Carrie Ann Inaba saying "the movement quality was so accurate. You stayed that way the whole way through."

Olson received one 8 out of 10 and three scores of 9 out of 10 – his first time getting 9s all season – for a total score of 35 out of 40. Despite getting his highest score of the season, Olson's combined Episode 7 and 8 score of 67 out of 80 was not enough to move him forward in the competition when joined with the amount of fan votes he received.

"I wanted to be on this since last year," Olson said after his elimination. "I got on it, and I got the most amazing partner in Emma, so, this journey has been amazing."

Who else was eliminated during Episode 8 of 'Dancing with the Stars'?

Along with Olson, Tyler Cameron of "The Bachelor" franchise was eliminated during Episode 8. His "Dracula" inspired Viannese Waltz was criticized by the judges, earning him a 26 out of 40. Cameron's total score for Episodes 7 and 8 was a 58 out of 80, landing him at the very bottom of the leaderboard.

Cameron expressed disappointment in himself at the end of the episode, saying he felt like he let his partner Sharna Burgess down.

"She has given me so much, and I'm just... I have a special woman in my life now. I'm very lucky," Cameron said of their partnership.
