Disneyland to end major perk for hotel guests

Those planning a trip to Disneyland and staying in its resorts should be aware of a perk for guests that will end soon.

Starting Jan. 5, 2026, the park in Anaheim, California, will no longer allow guests who stay at its resorts to gain early access to its parks, Disneyland announced .

Before the announcement, guests at Disneyland's onsite resorts can have 30-minute early entry on select days to either Disneyland or Disney's California Adventure each day. The onsite resorts include Pixar Place Hotel, Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Disneyland Hotel.

The decision to end the early access perk comes after the resort said its bookings team determined most hotel guests weren't taking advantage of early entry, Disneyland told USA Today . Guests also said their plans didn't always line up with which park was offering early entry on a given day.

However, the park is countering the end of one perk with the addition of another.

Starting Jan. 5 of 2026, guests who are checked in and staying at one of the resort hotels can take advantage of one Lightning Lane entry to a Lightning Lane Multi Pass attraction during their stay.

The Lightning Lane option is one per guest. And it can be used once per stay. Guests must also have a valid theme park entry and reservations to use the perk.

The Lightning Lane option can be chosen from rides like Matterhorn Bobsleds, Space Mountain and Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: Breakout!
