‘Drive – The Pretenders': All About Prime Video's Formula 1 Romance
Prime Video is about to make your heart race with its upcoming Formula 1 romance, Drive – The Pretenders . The German-language film is based on a Wattpad novel of the same name, which has since been turned into a published book by author Tamara Lush. Gear up for fake dating, enemies-to-lovers, and plenty of angst.
Drive – The Pretenders follows a race car mechanic, Sarah, who joins the pit crew of Formula World champion Dante Annunziata. Dante, known as the cocky and scandalous bad boy of the racing world, finds himself forced to fake an engagement with Sarah to protect his reputation. Sarah agrees to the scheme, secretly hoping it results in her getting behind the wheel herself. Their lie gets complicated when real feelings start to form between them. It's giving My Fault meets Off Campus .

Drive – The Pretenders races onto Prime Video on October 28. Filming took place from September to November 2025 in Prague, Germany, and the Italian Amalfi Coast, as well as the Brno racing circuits in the Czech Republic.

Who is in the Drive – The Pretenders cast?
Lisa-Marie Koroll plays Sarah. The 28-year-old German actress got her start in the industry as a child, starring in the Bibi and Tina franchise.
Opposite her is Amin Baahmed as Dante. Per his management , Drive is Baahmed's first leading role, though the 1998-born German actor appears in the feature film Kundschafter des Friedens 2 . He's also trained dancer who specializes in breaking and a journalist with youth media network Bremen NEXT and COSMO.
The rest of the cast includes Gustav Schmidt, Mišel Matičević, Lucie Heinze, Frederic Linkemann, Inka Friedrich, Jeanette Hain, Philippe Brenninkmeyer, Steven Gätjen, and Pati Valpati, and Leslie Malton.
