General Hospital's Nathan Dean Hints at Mysterious Reasons For Ethan's Comeback
- Nathan Dean recently made a grand return to General Hospital to pay tribute to the late Tony Geary, whom he was close to in real life.
The troublemaker from Down Under is back! Ethan Lovett ( Nathan Dean ) made his grand return to General Hospital last week, and it's clear the schemer has more on his mind than just visiting family and mourning his late father, Luke ( Tony Geary).
Paying homage to the legend that was Geary was a big part of Dean wanting to return to Port Charles. He told TV Insider how close he was in real life with Geary, and how he'd wanted to come back to pay tribute to someone who meant so much to him. Late last year, EP Frank Valentini and Casting Director Mark Teschner reached out, and the rest is sudsy history.
We've already seen Ethan reunite with Lulu ( Alexa Havins Bruening, who's assumed the role in his time away from the soap and whom he praised) and Kristina ( Kate Mansi). He revealed to the site that he's also shot scenes with Sonny ( Maurice Benard) and Tracy ( Jane Elliot); he also remembered filming once upon a time with Tristan Rogers(Robert).
What can fans expect from Ethan as a character? He's been gone a while, and we've already seen him sniffing around the local mob. However, he may have a deeper reason. Dean dished:
He's definitely changed a little bit. We know that some other mysterious people have been popping up in town. As we start to learn a little bit more about them, maybe we'll reveal the real reason why he is back, as opposed to just, 'Oh, I miss my friends and family.' I'm very excited to dive into all of it.
