Jon Stewart Issues Midterms Plea: ‘Send A Message To This Reckless ********’

" Daily Show " host Jon Stewart has issued a serious midterms plea ahead of the upcoming elections, urging voters to participate in American democracy and rebuke President Donald Trump and his administration by casting their ballots against his GOP candidates.
"It's the election," Stewart said Tuesday on his " Weekly Show " podcast. "This is the last time that we will speak before the election, and I just want to urge everybody out there to please, please — for the love of God — get out there and vote and express your political opinion."

He explained, "I'd like to frame it as, 'However you'll vote,' but I don't mean that. I mean it as, 'Please send a message to this reckless shitshow of an administration that enough is enough, that we have had it, that it is time for someone to step up and provide, I believe the framers referred to them as checks and balances, on this utterly imperious administration.'"
The comedian started with humor by singing a snippet of the revolutionary song " Do You Hear the People Sing? " from " Les Misérables ," before reminding viewers how important the midterms could be.
Trump long vowed to "drain the swamp" of corruption in Washington, D.C., and to "Make America Great Again" by avoiding foreign military entanglements and prioritizing domestic infrastructure projects, only to impose debilitating tariffs and launch a costly war on Iran .
He has seemingly made the midterms all about himself , despite disastrous approval ratings driven by a nationwide affordability crisis he has partially created by pushing Iran to close the Strait of Hormuz through which a fifth of the world's oil passes.
Stewart issued his plea, stating: "So, that is the spiel today. We are not talking about the election today; we will be talking about other doomsday scenarios. Financial ones, in particular, about AI."

While the comedian was adamant that the midterms are paramount, Stewart recently warned Democratic lawmakers that winning back Congress is only part of the battle, and they will "have to ******* do something" to improve the lives of everyday Americans.
"They're going to have to deliver," he said on his "Weekly Show" last month .

Stewart was specifically talking about minority leaders Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) saying, "It will not be sufficient to make their entire personalities opposition to whatever Trump's politics are."
He added, "They're going to have to have a prescription for rebalancing this economy."
