The working title for the latest TV show from the Marvel Cinematic Universe has reportedly been revealed. The rumor also suggests that the show might feature a major X-Men team.
According to recent reports from Charles Murphy , Marvel Studios is working on a mysterious project. The update further pointed out that the project has been allotted to Veil Productions and has a working title, namely Slumber Party. Currently, Marvel has kept all information about the plot, cast, crew, official title, and more under wraps.
However, per Murphy, the title Slumber Party might hint at the New Mutants. That's because the title of the New Mutants #21 was Slumber Party, and it introduced the character of Warlock. Murphy also made several other guesses as to what the new mystery television show could be about. These potential fits included Strange Academy, a Champions/Young Avengers storyline, or a Children's Crusade adaptation.
However, fans must take the update with a grain of salt. All of these are just rumors and Marvel has not yet confirmed any of it.
How Children's Crusade fits into Marvel's mystery streaming project
Murphy has already teased a potential Children's Crusade or a Young Avengers adaptation. Such a storyline does fit into the mystery project, as VisionQuest is already rumored to lay the foundation for a future Children's Crusade storyline.
Recent reports from Feature First state that VisionQuest could start a new storyline within Marvel taking inspiration from the comic book Avengers: The Children's Crusade. VisionQuest will apparently not be directly connected to the wider MCU story.
The Children's Crusade was published as a comic series from 2010-2012. Written by Allan Heinberg and illustrated by Jim Cheung, the narrative primarily focuses on the Young Avengers. Adding to that, a major part of the story revolves around Scarlet Witch , aka Wanda Maximoff.
The storyline of Avengers: The Children's Crusade delves into how Wiccan, a young superhero, loses control of his power. He further discovers that he might be the son of Wanda Maximoff and decides to find her. At the same time, the Avengers and X-Men are also looking for Wanda because of the devastating things she did during the House of M events. The story further brings in Doctor Doom, who wants to exploit Wanda's powers.
