Rae Boyd to headline American Idol watch party in Maryland
Maryland American Idol contestant Rae Boyd will join fans for a live watch party March 2 at Sports & Social Maryland, according to a community announcement.
The event begins at 7 p.m. inside Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland and will feature a viewing of the newest American Idol episode with Boyd in attendance. She advanced to Hollywood Week after performing Aretha Franklin's "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" during the Feb. 16 episode. Boyd is a Walkersville High School alum who lived in the Frederick area for about 15 years before moving to Towson, according to earlier Herald-Mail and Frederick News-Post reporting.
The first 100 guests will receive a $10 gift card and a signed headshot from Boyd. Everyone attending will be entered into a grand-prize drawing that Boyd is scheduled to host at 9 p.m., according to the announcement.
