‘Sheriff Country’ Season 2 Trailer: Mickey Confronts Her Mother

"Through all the drama, I've had one constant: this town," Sheriff Mickey Fox ( Morena Baccarin ) says, sitting behind her desk and talking to her parents, in the  Sheriff Country Season 2 trailer. And she's going to be dealing with  a lot of drama when the CBS drama returns on Friday, October 9.

After all, last season's finale ended with her learning that her love interest, Alec ( Wes Chatham ), was dirty, and his boss at the DEA, Santos ( Rachel Ticotin ), is her mother, whom she thought had died! At least her relationship with her sister, Sharon ( Fire Country 's Diane Farr ), is in a good place, because she's going to need someone to lean on. That's why it's good to see that Farr will be crossing over.

"In the past month, your dad betrayed you, and your mother rose from the dead?" Sharon asks incredulously in the trailer. "Among other things," Mickey says.

Mother and daughter have a lot to talk about, but so far, all we're getting from Santos in the video preview is the professional side of things. She tells Mickey, "I came back because I need you and your father's help to take down a very dangerous criminal organization." Not exactly something you want to hear from the mom you didn't know was still alive. And so Mickey has the right reaction when she argues, "For 35 years, you could've come back into my life, but you chose now, to put us in this situation."

It seems like Boone ( Matt Lauria ) is going to pick up on what's going on with Mickey, though we'll have to see if things are at all tense between them after she didn't fully trust him with her suspicions about Alec in the finale. "I will do whatever my sheriff asks of me, but she's not OK," he tells Cassidy ( Michele Weaver ).

He also confronts Mickey: "I don't know if you're up to the job." She's not happy to hear that: "Don't tell me how to do my job."

Ben McKenzie guest stars as Sheriff Wade, a neighboring sheriff who is called in to assist Sheriff Mickey, and has a few secrets of his own."
