It’s A Short Wait Until ‘Silo’ Season 4’s Release Date

Silo season 3's last episode hit AppleTV Thursday night with a blockbuster finale, the 10th episode of a season that started slow but became explosive, no pun intended, in the last two weeks. In this age of streaming, fans may now mourn that it could be anywhere from one and a half to three years until Silo returns for season 4. But that is not going to be the case. Not even close.

Apple has confirmed that Silo season 4 will be out next summer. Best case, that's 11 months from when season 3 started and around nine months from now if it's June 2027. Worst case, it's 11 months from now if the premier of season 4 is August 2027. If it's July? It will be exactly a year between seasons — and just a 10-month wait.

This was not the case for other seasons of Silo . The gap between seasons 1 and 2 was almost 17 months; the gap between seasons 2 and 3 was almost 18 months. Now, we're looking at a year or less before season 4. How did they do it?

Apple TV tends to do things like this more than other services: Silo seasons 3 and 4 were greenlit at the same time, before season 2 was even complete. That would finish the adaptation of the book series, and they shot seasons 3 and 4 back-to-back, allowing for this quick release.

It is even more impressive in this case because Silo seasons are 10, hour-long episodes, while other shows are six to eight, and sometimes episodes are only half as long. Apple really got a handle on this scheduling, like with Slow Horses, and now it's going to have a complete package of one of the best sci-fi shows of the modern era by the end of next summer.

What's coming in Silo season 4?

Because season 4 has already been filmed, Apple was able to air a minute-long trailer at the end of the season 3 finale. You can watch that if you want, but I purposefully did not, as I'd rather it all just be a surprise, and I don't want to be anticipating situations all season long that the trailer hint at. But it's up to you.

Troy , the name of the episode, ended up being a new moniker for Daniel, the "modern day" protagonist we followed throughout the season. Through the magic of cryo, and I believe the overestimation that the Silos have been active for hundreds of years rather than decades, the two sets of characters now exist at the same time and are trying to kill each other, with Juliette attempting to invade Silo 1.

There is also a heavy implication that Juliette is Daniel's daughter with Helen, or at least a descendant, as the timelines are still a bit fuzzy. Daniel may be slipping out of his brainwashed Troy persona once he's told Helen's name, which is a great kickstart to next season, and it's only 10 months away — probably.
