What to Watch in October 2025: Nobody Wants This Season 2, Obviously

Nobody Wants This season two doesn't drop until Thursday, October 23 , but it's all we'll be talking about until, during, and after the premiere. Ever since the Netflix rom-com burst onto the scene last September, we've been counting down the months until Rabbi Noah, podcast duo Joanne and Morgan, brother Sasha, and sister-in-law Esther are back on our screens. While the show had its faults (namely this persistent Jewish stereotype ), it was still one of the funniest, most romantic comedies we've seen in a long time thanks to the magnetic rapport between Adam Brody and Kristen Bell .

The official season two trailer dropped recently (watch that below), and we learned that even though Noah and Joanne are back together (after she broke up with him because she didn't want him to have to choose between her and his religion/calling), they still haven't quite figured out how they're going to make this relationship work. She thinks they're doing the interfaith thing; he thinks she'll probably convert.

Meanwhile, Joanne is taking fashion inspiration from Diane Keaton (you'll see what I mean, below), and Morgan is annoyed that her sister is in such a delightfully charming relationship. Of course, new relationship challenges await, especially when Joanne starts thinking of raising a family with Noah. (At this point, enter Brody's real-life wife, Leighton Meester, who plays Joanne’s middle-school nemesis Abby, an Instagram mommy influencer.)

What else? Well, Noah's mom, Bina (Tovah Feldshuh), appears to be tolerating Joanne, but I'm so here for Bina's eye roll/side-eye in the trailer when Joanne acts as if she's never seen challah before and does the so-2015 “Holla!” It also looks like we're going to get some sort of Halloween or costume party episode (perhaps Purim?), with Noah dressed as a vampire and Joanne as Cinderella.

We'll also get more scenes with favorite cast-off siblings, Sasha and Morgan, though it's been said nothing will come of their obvious chemistry (in all fairness, that would be really, really weird). Plus, Sasha's wife, Esther, grew on me by the time we got to the season one finale.

As far as guest stars, Leighton Meester wasn't the only one announced earlier this year. Miles Fowler, Alex Karpovsky, and Arian Moayed have also signed on for season two, and the new trailer shows Seth Rogen making an appearance as well. We don't find out who he's playing, but according to the photo description from Netflix, below, Rogen has been cast as Rabbi Neil. So what other surprises are in store? We've got three more weeks, and then we'll be able to talk about everything .

Of course, Nobody Wants This isn't the only thing worth watching this October. (I know, hard to believe.) Chad Powers continues to roll out new episodes all month on Hulu; if you have yet to watch the first two, get on that now. It's so ridiculous in the best way possible, and also quite heartwarming in ways I didn't expect.

Meanwhile, Grey's Anatomy returns for season 22 as well as all of CBS's new (count me in for Boston Blue , which is the Blue Bloods spin-off) and returning shows. The Diplomat (Netflix) and Loot (Apple TV+) each return for season three, SNL is back for its 51st season, and Taylor Swift will promote The Life of a Showgirl on The Tonight Show on Monday, October 6 (her new album drops Friday, October 3).

The Official Release Party of a Showgirl ( In theaters ): Set to coincide with the release of her album, the Release Party of a Showgirl hits theaters on Friday, October 3 and will run through Sunday, October 5, giving Swifties a three-day window to experience her music video and BTS footage on the big screen.
