What Went Wrong With Billy and Sally?
Really, "Silly" should never have worked as well as they did in the first place, considering that the couple only got together in the wake of Adam and Chelsea's betrayals of their significant others. But Billy and Sally clicked — in a big way.

And now… er, not so much.
Even after Cane upended the launch party for Abbott Communications, Billy was like, eh, let's "see how this plays out a little bit." Sally, in turn, was like, hell, no! When the fit hit the fan, "who are they gonna hang [this mess] on? Me!"
Is There Any Chance Billy and Sally's Romance Can Survive?
Billy suggested that he and Sally cool their heels and "gather more information" about Cane's magical AI. And hey, maybe it is magical; AI is destroying businesses — whole industries — right and left, so why couldn't it also be used as a weapon against Victor?
"What if it's real?" Billy asked breathlessly. "What if he hands us the keys to the kingdom?"
Because if it seems to good to be true, ya dolt, it is. It always is! Sally, who wasn't born with a silver spoon in her mouth like her beau, knows this. ( Remember her checkered past ?) When it all gets shot to hell, "we're gonna be the ones to pay," she said.
Or, well, she would be the one. Because ol' Billy Boy has all that Abbott money to fall back on.
