Want to see a free movie? Sunset Cinema series coming to Columbus Commons
September brings thoughts of cooler temperatures, sweaters and the leaves turning from green to technicolor. But pump the brakes before donning that cardigan — it's not fall yet.
The remaining three weeks of summer yield abundant opportunities for outdoor entertainment. In fact, you don't even have to stay inside to watch a movie. Sunset Cinema will bring the movie outside to you.
A collaboration between Downtown Columbus, Inc. and CAPA, Sunset Cinema will offer a movie every Thursday in September at John F. Wolfe Columbus Commons. Rated PG and PG-13, the movies are geared toward adults.

"With kids going back to school, I hear a lot of people saying summer's over, but we're really soaking up every drop of summer fun here at Columbus Commons," said director Ashley Myers.
"This brand-new event stems from our partnership with CAPA and putting a new spin on their Summer Movie Series . We wanted to make it free, so we're excited about that."
The screenings will feature information booths highlighting a different local nonprofit each week.
"We identified a few (groups) that we have an existing relationship with and want to give them a platform to showcase all the great work they do and amplify their messages," Myers said.

Sunset Cinema launches Thursday with "Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit." The featured nonprofit will be Zora's House .

Sept. 26: "Top Gun: Maverick," Downtown Residents Association of Columbus (DRAC)
The movies, chosen by polling patrons, start at dusk. Moviegoers can bring chairs, blankets and picnic dinners. Food trucks will be on-site.
Come early for games and happy hour at Brews in the Bosque from 5-8 p.m. each Thursday this month. Then grab a drink to go from the bar, which is open until 9 p.m., and enjoy the show!
