New Year's Eve falls on Tuesday, Dec. 31, and beach bars and restaurants will have entertainment galore to help ring out the old year and usher in the new. Many of them will also feature music events in the days leading up to NYE.

Neil Diamond tribute will bring his big hits to Ocean City

In Ocean City, the OC Performing Arts Center will present So Good: The Neil Diamond Experience at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27 ($35, $45). National tribute artist Robert Neary will sing Diamond classics including "Sweet Caroline," "Coming to America," "Forever in Blue Jeans" and more. The center's website and social media accounts feature the current 2025 schedule, which will have concerts taking place through the winter and spring.

Ocean City's Fager's Island, Seacrets will rock through New Year's Eve

At OC's legendary Fager's Island, there is a lot of activity going on up until the business closes for a two-week winter breather from Jan. 2 to 16. At 5:30 p.m, Friday, Dec. 27, the enclosed deck will have '80's music from The Chest Pains 2.0 (featuring an all-new lineup); at 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, the last deck party of the year will have classic rock from Transfuzion. On Tuesday, Dec. 31, the NYE party with party band Radio Hero will find ticket holders only being admitted after 7 p.m. ($55).

Also in Ocean City, Seacrets' annual NYE shindig Tuesday, Dec. 31 will have a cover charge of $20 starting at 5 p.m., and $30 at 8 p.m. Seacrets will be open until 3 a.m., with music by Full Circle, Kono Nation, The Way Outs and Garden State Radio.

Rusty Rudder going all out for New Year's Eve, even with fireworks

In Dewey Beach, the Rusty Rudder has been a New Year's Eve hotspot for decades. Music on Tuesday, Dec. 31 will be provided by four bands on indoor and outdoor stages — with its deck on the water covered by a see-through tent. A fireworks display will take place over the bay. The music lineup includes Love Seed Mama Jump, Stealing Savanah, the Gab Cinque Band and Triple Rail Turn ($115).

Looking ahead to next month at the Rudder, tickets are on sale now for a show that will pay homage to the American jam band that was one of the recipients of this year's Kennedy Center Honors. Tribute act Shakedown Citi will perform the music of the Grateful Dead at 8:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17 ($25).

Bottle & Cork, Starboard will be Dewey beach hot spots

The Rudder's nearby sister business in Dewey, the Bottle & Cork nightclub, will have a different vibe. It will present the return of electronic dance music deejay White Panda on Tuesday, Dec. 31. This year's bash has been dubbed the Iced Out New Year's Eve, and patrons are being encouraged to dress in white clothing. Dewey's own DJ Knappy will kick off the evening at 8 p.m. ($42).

Elsewhere in Dewey, The Starboard nightclub has a lot going on leading up to the new year. Decade 80 will pack the dance floor at 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28. Kristen & the Noise will rock the house at 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30. While both of those shows are free, New Year's Eve with music by Just the Tip will be a ticketed event ($49).

In Rehoboth Beach, party at Ale House on the Mile, Dogfish Head

Rehoboth Ale House On the Mile, which is located just north of Dewey's town limits on northbound Route 1, is making its bash a two-night music event. The concerts will see Lower Case Blues and Sweet Leda pairing up both nights. The groups will rip it up from 6 to 10 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30 ($30). They will then welcome the new year from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31 ($35, $50).

In downtown Rehoboth Beach, the Dogfish Head brewpub has come up with a unique concept for patrons who may have the day off from work on Tuesday, Dec. 31. The event which has been coined Pub-A-Palooza will feature more than 12 hours of continuous music all afternoon and evening, with four different acts playing multiple sets. Jeff Evans will kick things off at noon and will be followed by Calico Sparx at 3 p.m., Al Frantic at 6 p.m. and the Nick Kashmanian Trio at 9 p.m. Admission is free, and Dogfish regulars will be pleased to hear that the usual weekly Tuesday discounts on pizzas and burgers will remain in effect.

New Midway spot heats up quickly with Journey tribute band

On northbound Route 1 near Lewes, the Midway Shopping Center is home to the recently-opened Palm Beach Bar & Grill (in the location of the former restaurant-nightclub called Shrimpy's). At 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, Palm Beach's party will feature the female-fronted Journey tribute act Frontiers ($140). Capacity is being limited to about 70 percent of the available space to avoid overcrowding. Frontiers singer Elaine Tuttle has earned social media praise for her vocals from original Journey frontman Steve Perry.
