This $30 Million Caribbean Compound Has 4 Homes and a Waterfall With a Light Show
- The Waterfront Estate on Saint Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands features four homes, 25,000 square feet of living space, and a terraced waterfall with a light show.
On the island of Saint Thomas, in the U.S. Virgin Islands, sits a property that truly knows how to put on a show.
Called the Waterfront Estate, the nine-acre spread includes not just one home, but four. In total, there’s more than 25,000 square feet of living space with 18 bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, and two infinity pools. The real showstopper, though, is the estate’s terraced waterfall, which comes with its own light show, courtesy of more than 100 LED lights, 17 falls, 10 jumping jets, eight fire braziers, a fog machine, and a holographic water screen. Nick Van Assche at Sea Glass Properties holds the $30 million listing .

If you can look beyond that captivating aquatics display, the property has much more to offer in the way of everyday living. The main villa sports five bedrooms and five full bathrooms, with stonework, hardwoods, and antiques throughout. An 800-square-foot great hall anchors the residence, and there’s a wine grotto for storing your prized bottles. Outside, the guesthouse cottage includes another four bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Tropical walkways connect the main house and cottage to another waterfront villa and the fourth home—the former with six bedrooms and five baths, the latter with three beds and two baths. While the ample indoor space is impressive, it’s the expansive outdoor amenities that make the most of the Caribbean setting. The two waterfront villas have direct water access, with stone staircases or trams taking you down to the ocean. Numerous terraces and verandas line all four buildings, looking down on Charlotte Amalie harbor. You can even shoot two water cannons right into the sea. Ocean access continues with a 50-foot white-sand beach and a private 80-foot dock, from which you can watch the sun set over Hassel Island.
The Waterfront Estate was previously on the market a few years back with a much lower price of $24 million. While the over-the-top residence makes a considerable splash in the U.S. Virgin Islands, the sibling British Virgin Islands are home to some similarly spectacular spreads. Last year, for example, a couple of eye-catching homes hit the market there, including a $32.5 million compound with six homes that can sleep up to 18 people and a $58 million, 10-bedroom villa on Richard Branson’s Moskito Island.
