Akron RubberDucks to serve up 3 new items on Extreme Foods menu this season
The home opener for the RubberDucks is Tuesday with a 6:35 p.m. first pitch against the Altoona Curve at Akron's Canal Park.
But it's not just the return of baseball that fans can look forward to. Amy Rose, the organization's first female head chef, has been whipping up new items for the ballpark's Extreme Foods menu.
This season's extreme menu has three new creations.
Where to buy The WONE Base on (Meat)Balls
The WONE Base on (Meat)Balls is a partnership with the Akron radio station. The dish is hollowed out French Bread layered three times with spicy giardiniera marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese and four meatballs topped with parmesan cheese. The sandwich is served with a free 2025 souvenir cup filled with a 32-ounce fountain Coca-Cola product.
It will cost $16 and can be purchased at Godfather's concession stand with $1 of each sale being donated to Valor Homes.
RubberDuck's WQMX Should Have Been a Cowboy
The WQMX Should Have Been a Cowboy is a layered cocktail with grenadine, lemonade, Tito's vodka and blue curacao topped with a cowboy boot. The team plans to donate $1 of each sale to the Northeast Ohio Foundation for Patriotism (NEOPAT).
The drink can be found at the ballpark's Modelo Tiki bar.
Emmett Golden's Bicentennial Bacon Burger
Emmett Golden's Bicentennial Bacon Burger is part of a partnership with ESPN Cleveland. It is a double cheeseburger with smoked jalapeno gouda, Canadian bacon, onion rings, mayo-barbecue sauce and bacon cheeseburger dip served on a sweet Hawaiian bun crisped with green chili aioli.
The culinary creation is $16 and named after Emmett Golden, co-host of the Next Level on ESPN Cleveland. The burger can be found at the Pineapple Under The "C" Grill.
