Footwear designer Amina Muaddi debuted a new shoe while attending the Schiaparelli spring 2025 haute couture show in Paris on Jan. 27. Matching an ensemble from Schiaparelli, she donned a pair of metallic gold gladiator sandals for the occasion.

Muaddi appeared to be wearing Look 17 , or a variation of it, from Schiaparelli's spring-summer 2025 ready-to-wear collection. She wore a ribbed, fitted dress in a glimmering champagne hue; one of the brand's trompe l'oeil designs was featured on the bust. ( Look 28 in the brand's spring-summer 2024 ready-to-wear collection looks like a dark silver, maxi variation of the dress.) Muaddi's dress was paired with a sumptuous cardigan which matched it in terms of both color and materiality; standout details of the outer garment included a silvery lapel and gold buttons.

Muaddi hinted that the sandals she wore hailed from her own brand with a photo of the shoes on her Instagram story including the caption "Sneak peek" with the side eye emoji. The metallic gold shoes feature several slender straps intersecting in the toe region while more skinny straps criss-cross in X-shapes from the top of the foot all the way up to the mid-calf region.
The design recalls the footwear of gladiators in ancient Rome, a sandal aesthetic which continues to be reinvented centuries later. Muaddi's take on it included a stiletto heel and a dainty bow at the top of the silhouette.

Muaddi released new styles in October under her namesake brand with Drop 24/25, featuring the Anok line named for Anok Yai and more options in the footwear and accessory realms. Rihanna debuted the Anok mule in September; she's been known to step out in Amina Muaddi designs on more than one occasion (for example, she wore ribbed knit boots with a heel back from the brand in December), and has even collaborated with the designer through her Fenty line. Other celebrities who have stepped out in Amina Muaddi include Katy Perry , Tia Mowry , Christina Aguilera and Olivia Rodrigo , among others.
