England isn't the only place with stately Tudor-style manors. Connecticut is blessed with a few , too.

Nor Tor, deemed "one of Greenwich's finest English manors" by the folks at Sotheby's International Realty, has just hit the market for $13.99 million . Sitting on just shy of 3.5 acres, the grandiose 1920s home underwent a meticulous three-year renovation by architect Ira Grandberg but retains a charming, old-world feel.

Surrounded by lush gardens, the idyllic spread comprises a 19-room main home and a two-bedroom, one-bathroom carriage house. The manor showcases a half-timbered granite facade and a slate roof, mirroring many of the first homes built in Northern Europe. The four-story residence features five bedrooms and seven full bathrooms spread out over more than 10,000 square feet.

The revamped interiors are the highlight, though. Skilled artisans refurbished the antique parquet, marble, and limestone flooring, as well as the oak paneling and ornate ceilings. The four fireplaces were also lovingly restored. Other gorgeous period details include intricately carved moldings, friezes, and water-gilded cabinetry.

Custom hand-painted wallpapers by Gracie Studio pop alongside hardwood flooring in the entrance hall. A few steps away lies a formal living room with a wood-burning fireplace, a three-exposure family room that opens to the garden, and an oak-paneled library with built-ins for tomes. Elsewhere on this floor is a large kitchen with a marble island, a breakfast room that seats five, and a butler's pantry that provides extra prep space.

The primary wing sprawls out on the floor above, offering a sitting room, an en suite, and a spacious bedroom. Two more en-suite bedrooms are located on this level, while the remaining two are positioned side by side on the third floor. The fourth floor is equipped with a media center, a playroom, and a glass wall studio.

Back down on the lower level, you'll find a wine cellar, a music room, a mud room, a laundry, and the entry to the attached garage. Heading outside, the stone terrace provides ample space for alfresco entertaining. Other exterior highlights include a lounge with a stone fireplace and a swimming pool by Shoreline.

As for guests, the 1,745-square-foot carriage house includes a living room, full kitchen, an antique-beamed great room, and an office with a wet bar. Prized rides will be kept in comfort, too, with a one-car garage in the main house and a three-car garage in the carriage house.

Leslie McElwreath of Sotheby's International Realty—Greenwich Brokerage holds the listing.
