3 Best Costco Wines Under $10, According To A Sommelier
Time to stock up.
Enjoying wine doesn’t have to mean buying the most expensive bottle. Just ask certified sommelier Samantha Capaldi , who brings an approachable, down-to-earth lens to wine on her social media, where she's been sharing her top picks under the slogan "your no snob somm" since 2015.
Capaldi, who shares delicious bottles for any budget, recently revealed her top picks from Costco's wine aisle—and every single one is less than $10.
It probably comes as no surprise to any Costco shoppers, but all three bottles fall under the Kirkland Signature umbrella. Kirkland Signature , the warehouse's private-label brand, offers premium products that are often half the cost of name brands—and wine is no exception. Costco’s wine section has quietly built a cult following for delivering surprisingly high-quality bottles at prices that feel almost too good to be true, and sommeliers are taking notice.
"I don’t shop at Costco nearly as much as I’d like to but when I do go these are always the three wines I get!!!" Capaldi captioned a video of herself shopping in a warehouse and picking up three different bottles.
The three bottles to make her list include:
-
Kirkland Signature Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand
-
Kirkland Signature Pinot Grigio from Italy
-
Kirkland Signature Provence Rosé from France
The sommelier, who aims to make wine fun and approachable, shared that Kirkland Signature Pinot Grigio from Italy, just $4.99 a bottle, is a must, as is the boxed Kirkland Signature Pinot Grigio from California.
Capaldi added that Kirkland Signature Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, which retails for just $6.99, is something she buys at least six bottles of when she visits Costco.
"Drinks way more expensive and is the perfect balance of the citrus you love in a Sauvy B and perfectly crisp and dry," she wrote in the caption of the bottle.
And finally, Kirkland Signature Provence Rosé which comes in at just $7.99.
"This makes for such a fun brunch rosé and all my friends and tasting clients are obsessed," Capaldi wrote.
Comparable wines from these regions often retail closer to $15 or $20, making these picks an especially strong value.
In the comments, Capaldi added a fourth bottle that she enjoys, which also falls into the affordable price bracket: Kirkland Prosecco. "That’s my fave for campari spritz," she wrote.
More than 240 social media users weighed in on the video, many praising her choices, while others asking for additional Costco options.
"The Kirkland Sauvvy B is one of my favorites! Always makes amazing sangria and is so good even on its own," one user wrote.
Another said, "Can you do a video but with the red wines like cabs?"
One user shared that Capaldi's viral video was influencing them beyond wine. "This might finally convince me to get a Costco membership," they wrote.
For shoppers looking to drink well without spending big, Capaldi’s picks are proof that some of the best values in wine might be hiding in plain sight—or on the shelf of your local Costco.
