  • A Malibu estate inspired by the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai is on the market for $29.95 million, featuring an indoor-outdoor flow reminiscent of the Hawaiian luxury resort.

A little piece of a five-star Hawaiian hotel has popped up for sale in California.

A breezy Malibu estate inspired by the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai just listed for $29.95 million with Ari Wintraub of Sotheby’s International Realty, Brentwood Brokerage. Built in 2023, the bungalow evokes the luxurious Ka’upulehu-based resort with an indoor-outdoor flow that makes year-round living a breeze. At least five design firms worked on the Four Seasons property, including Honolulu-based Belt Collins & Associates, making it a wonderful architectural muse.

The resort-style pad covers two lush acres along Malibu’s celeb-plenty northern Pacific coast. Doug Burdge of local outfitter Burdge Architects designed the certified net-zero abode, which is one of just 17 in the exclusive 80-acre MariSol Malibu community. It was the developer, though—whom its current owner bought it from—that got the idea for it after visiting Four Seasons Hualalai. They “loved the feel there, and thought it was what the buyers would want here,” Wintrab tells Robb Report via email. “Malibu mirrors the same climate.” The “100 percent electric” address also incorporates the latest and greatest green tech, with solar panels and Tesla Powerwalls reducing its carbon footprint.

The ocean-view lot was first listed in 2014 for $9.95 million, according to property records. It most recently sold for $28.5 million in May 2024, before returning to the market in July at a hair under $30 million.

Located just 20 minutes from Camarillo Airport, the property is well-suited to high-fliers. A glass bridge connects the main house and guest house, with six bedrooms and 12 bathrooms spread across nearly 16,500 square feet of space. Backlit stairs lead up to the home’s entrance, where eye-catching designer lighting beams overhead, just like at the award-winning Four Seasons Hualalai.

A vaulted accoya wood ceiling stretches out over the main living area, which includes living and dining rooms, the main kitchen, and a bar. A trio of islands anchors the kitchen, which is also equipped with a breakfast bar and top-tier Miele and Gaggenau appliances. A secondary chef’s prep kitchen nearby provides extra storage space.

Six people are comfortably seated at the bar, which includes a beer tap and four Gaggenau wine fridges. The covered patio, accessible via three large sliding doors in the main living area, offers serene Pacific Ocean vistas by the zero-edge pool, spa, and pavilion with a fireplace.

Elsewhere, the nearly 2,000-square-foot primary suite has its own Shou Sugi Ban water vapor fireplace, motorized doors and drapes, as well as balcony access and a walk-in closet by Italian furniture company Poliform. The en suite is decked out with a dual porcelain-clad shower and rain-shower soaking tub.

Other highlights include a Redwood sauna, a steam room, a fully equipped gym, and a hospital-grade ventilation system. Elsewhere on the grounds is an organic fruit orchard, a vegetable and herb garden, and a sports court. To top it off, the estate is very close to the County Line surf break, so you can hang 10 as you would in Hawaii.
