New axe-throwing bar in Mass. leans into nostalgic fun with darts, Nerf guns
Axe throwers, dart players and hot dog lovers can feed their inner nostalgia by visiting the Boston area’s newest bar.
Re:Bar has taken over the former space of Revolution Axe Throwing in Everett and will officially open on Thursday, Nov. 20 at 4 p.m.
From the team behind Park-9 Dog Bar , also in Everett, Re:Bar is a complete re-imagination of the axe-throwing space that encourages visitors to throw, play and eat.
“We are so excited to bring another experiential gathering space to the quickly developing neighborhood of Everett,” Re:Bar owner and Etcetera Ventures co-founder Emily Gusse said in a press release. “We’ve loved being a part of the small business community here since opening Park-9 in 2023, and can’t wait to welcome people to the unique social playground we’ve created.”

Re:Bar is equipped with five dart boards where visitors can go head-to-head in several competitive and easy games. The high-tech boards have automated scoring and comical graphics that are meant to keep groups entertained.
Meanwhile, the six axe-throwing lanes allow guests to aim at zombies or sink battleships, among other interactive games worth trying. Those not into axes can pull a Nerf gun off the wall and shoot darts at ducks or other targets, instead.
All axe/Nerf lanes fit up to five players while dart lanes fit up to six players. Axe and Nerf games begin at $29 per hour per person and darts begin at $10 per hour per person. Online pre-booking is encouraged and discounts are available for reservations of two hours or more. All guests to fill out a waiver before participating in axe throwing.
Re:Bar’s food menu consists of several gourmet hot dogs such as the Dilly Dog (Grillo’s pickle spear, diced onions, and yellow mustard), Heater (Diced bacon, jalapeño relish and chipotle mayo) and Smoke Show (Mac & cheese, coleslaw, BBQ sauce drizzle, bacon and green onion).
Drink options include beer, cider, wine, mocktails and cocktails, including the Triple Shot (Wheatly vodka, Borghetti espresso liqueur, pecan and almond infused Irish cream, cold brew concentrate), Founders Manhattan (Woodford Reserve, Amaro Nonino, Runamok maple aromatic bitters) and Target Practice (Blanco tequila, topo chico, lime, Alma Finca Yuccatan orange liqueur).
Those looking to split a drink can get The Big Shot. Intended for 2-3 people, the massive cocktail is made with Blanco tequila, lime, agave, Alma Finca Yuccatan orange liqueur and passion fruit boba.
While Re:Bar is a 16-plus age venue, children between the ages of 12 and 15 years can play Nerf games on Saturday and Sunday from 12-5 p.m. The entertainment space hosts private parties, events and axe-throwing leagues as well.
The address for Re:Bar is 73 Norman St., Unit 19A in Everett, right next to the Sky Zone Trampoline Park and MetroRock Climbing Center. Re:Bar is open to the public from 4-11 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, 12-11 p.m. Saturdays and 12-9 p.m. Sundays. Mondays and Tuesdays are reserved for private events and leagues only.
