This Beloved ‘70s Candy Is Back on Shelves for a Limited Time—and Fans Are Stocking Up Before It Disappears Again

The arrival of fall means crisp mornings, pumpkin lattes, and colorful leaves, but there's another delicious perk of the season that everyone looks forward to. Next to drop a fall flavor is Hot Tamales. The cinnamon-flavored candy already wowed fans over the summer by bringing back Hot Tamales Tropical Heat . Now, the iconic candy is at it again.

Just in time for autumn, Hot Tamales is re-releasing a fan-favorite candy that's been missing for a decade: Cinnamon Apple Hot Tamales.

Cinnamon Apple Hot Tamales Back on Shelves After 10 Years

Cinnamon Apple Hot Tamales first launched in 1979 and were brought out of the vault for a short time back in 2016 due to fan requests. A decade later, Cinnamon Apple Hot Tamales are finally rolling out again in select stores.

Instagram snack account @candyhunting  spotted Cinnamon Apple Hot Tamales a few weeks ago at Hy-Vee and shared a photo. Followers were thrilled to see a favorite make its way back to stores.

"The Cinnamon Apple Hot Tamales are fire!" said one fan. "I'm stocking up so if they decide not to bring them back, I'll be set!"

Another said, "Found the cinnamon-apple ones. They are good. I thought they'd be more Hot Tamales cinnamon but I like."

So, what do Cinnamon Apple Hot Tamales taste like? Hot Tamales are my all-time favorite movie theater candy , so I was eager to find out. Comments saying they don't taste like original Hot Tamales are right: The flavor is more apple-forward with just a hint of cinnamon on the back end.

The texture and shape of the candies is the same, but this fall edition has a decidedly green apple taste with just the right amount of cinnamon at the finish. I loved the sweetness and tartness of the apple flavors in this candy re-release, and appreciated that there's still just enough cinnamon flavor to remind you it's a Hot Tamales candy.

Cinnamon Apple Hot Tamales are available now at ShopRite, Publix, H-E-B, Stop & Shop, and Meijer. Beginning the week of Sept. 12, the candies will also be available at Walmart .

And there's more good news about Cinnamon Apple Hot Tamales: This re-released version of a fan favorite will remain stocked through Halloween, as well as mid-April 2027 at Walmart. This means you've got plenty of time to find them, try them, and stock up if they're a candy you want to keep on hand.
