Moore named best Oklahoma city to retire in
U.S. News named Moore, Oklahoma, the best place in Oklahoma to retire in 2026-2027.
The organization ranked the top places to retire based on how they met retirees' needs. The study also focused on some of the most populated cities, mostly due to consistent data.
The main scoring came from calculating the following categories: quality of life, value, health care quality, senior population/migration numbers and the local job market. They also surveyed more than 3,500 people aged 45 and older nationwide in March 2025.
Based on those criteria, Moore, Oklahoma, is the 54th best place to retire in the nation. The ranking puts it in conversation with other cities just outside of metropolises like St. Charles, Missouri, which sits outside St. Louis, and Cary, North Carolina, which is located between Raleigh and Durham.
Moore, Oklahoma, also leads the area, with Broken Arrow and Edmond just behind as the 55th and 56th best places to retire in the U.S.
