The Big Room venue in Grand Rapids prepares for annual variety show

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — On March 20, visitors to The Big Room concert venue at SILVA can attend the second annual SILVA Spoon Variety Show , an adults-only artist showcase.

"It's sort of all over the place with different types of talent," said Quinn Mathews, manager for The Big Room at SILVA.

Featuring over a dozen artists, the SILVA Spoon Variety Show returns to The Big Room after an inaugural performance at Wealthy Theatre in 2024. Since The Big Room officially opened in 2025, Mathews has looked forward to bringing the show to the venue.

Performances will include improvisers from The Comedy Project, dancers from Haus of Glass, local artists, poets, vocalists and more.

"It's a true variety show," Mathews said.

As part of SILVA , already an eclectic restaurant featuring spontaneous performances and interactive elements, Mathews hopes the novelty of the SILVA Spoon Variety Show further highlights the unique experiences that The Big Room can offer to downtown Grand Rapids.

"We want to produce shows that have music and comedy to show that there can be all sorts of big entertainment right here in Grand Rapids," Mathews said.

Tickets start at $11 for general admission, and the performance will begin at 7 p.m.
