Burger King's Ice Cream Burger Is Causing A Debate Mike Campbell

Burger King is putting ice cream in a burger bun. No, I did not make that up.

The chain is bringing its Ice Burger to restaurants across France beginning September 8, and the dessert is exactly what its name suggests: ice cream served inside a warm brioche bun.

The Ice Burger comes in two varieties, with customers choosing between Nutella and Lotus Biscoff. The Nutella version pairs vanilla ice cream with the chocolate-hazelnut spread and caramelized hazelnuts, while the Biscoff version gets cookie spread and crunchy biscuit pieces.

While the nationwide rollout is new, the dessert itself actually isn't. Burger King first introduced the Ice Burger at a limited number of restaurants around Paris in April 2025 as part of its dessert-focused "Crush Corner" concept. Now, more than a year later, the rest of France is getting a chance to try it.

And unsurprisingly, putting ice cream between two pieces of brioche has people asking questions.

"I'm sorry—a brioche bun?? for ice cream? hell naww," one skeptical Instagram commenter wrote.

"A what burger 👂," another simply asked, while someone else needed confirmation that the whole thing wasn't a joke: "Is this actually a thing ????"

Not everyone needs convincing, though. "This would change me as a person," one person declared, earning more than 400 likes. JunkFoodGuru was equally enthusiastic, commenting, "Ommgg😍."

Then there are the Americans who don't really care whether an ice cream burger makes sense—they just want one.

"We never get the good stuff in the states 😂," one person complained. Another compared the unusual shape to Jack in the Box's limited-edition Cosmic Burgers.

Unfortunately for those of us ready to investigate, Burger King has only announced the wider Ice Burger rollout in France so far. It becomes available beginning September 8, while supplies last.

Until Burger King decides to bring it stateside, we'll just have to debate from afar.
