Chick-fil-A's menu is short and sweet. You won't find too wide a variety of chicken sandwiches or dozens of sides to choose from. But the options customers do have are so perfected that it's nearly impossible to pick a favorite menu item.

Some days, you might opt for a classic chicken sandwich with waffle fries, while other days you may try the newest additions—like Chick-fil-A's Chicken and Waffles or the newly announced Spicy Chick-fil-A Sauce . Fans certainly have their go-tos, and it may surprise you to know those go-tos aren't always a chicken sandwich or nuggets.

One fan favorite is Chick-fil-A's Chicken Tortilla Soup , which is a limited-time menu item that's been a staple since 2012. Customers wait all year for the hearty soup to return to menus—and now, that wait is over.

Chick-fil-A's Chicken Tortilla Soup was originally created by founder S. Truett Cathy himself. The soup was served at Cathy's original dine-in restaurant in Georgia , but it didn't appear on drive-thru menus until 2012. Today, it's a winter staple that fans say they "think about weekly in the summer" because "it's SO GOOD."

The hearty soup combines Original and Spicy shredded chicken, navy beans, and black beans in a creamy base of veggies and spices. Chick-fil-A finishes its hearty, slightly spicy soup with crunchy tortilla strips for added texture.

Chick-fil-A typically brings back its Chicken Tortilla Soup, the Peppermint Chip Milkshake, and the chain's holiday menu. While Chick-fil-A hasn't announced the return of its iconic Peppermint Chip Milkshake or its full winter seasonal menu just yet, the Chicken Tortilla Soup has already been spotted on some menus.

There is a slight catch to Chick-fil-A's beloved soup, however. Much like McDonald's McRib , Chick-fil-A's Chicken Tortilla Soup isn't available at all restaurants nationwide. Only select, participating locations in the U.S. serve the side.

You can check the Chick-fil-A app to see whether your local restaurant is among the participating locations.

Chick-fil-A's Chicken Tortilla Soup can be ordered in cup or bowl sizes now for a limited time. Chick-fil-A says the soup will be on menus until March 13, 2027, or while supplies last, so the hearty soup will be around to keep you warm all winter long.
