"Home numerology is the study of the numbers that appear in our addresses and the planetary energies associated with them. In Vedic numerology, the basic numbers range from 1 to 9, with each number connected to a particular planet and its unique energy," Kalsi explains.

How to Calculate Your Home's Unique Numerology Number

To calculate your home's unique numerology number, take the following steps:

Add together the individual digits of your home address. For example, if you live at 897, you should add 8+9+7=24.
Reduce the sum.So, working with the previous example, you would add together 2+4 and get 6. This is your home's unique numerology number.

"Plants, colors and other elements within the home can be used to complement the planetary energy associated with different numbers," Kalsi says. "Direction is also important, as each zone of the home is traditionally associated with particular planetary influences."

Below are the best houseplants Kalsi recommends for enhancing your home's specific energy.

Number 1, 4 and 7 Homes: Independence, Leadership and Fresh Starts (Sun)

"The number 1 carries the energy of the Sun. Sunflowers, whether planted in the northeast or incorporated into the home, are considered favorable for enhancing Sun energy. A Banyan tree may also be used in the northeast where appropriate," Kalsi says. "Numbers 4 and 7 complement the energies of numbers 1 and 2."

Number 2, 4 and 7 Homes: Harmony, Partnership and Peace (Moon)

"The number 2 represents the Moon and is associated with intuition and emotional sensitivity," Kalsi says. "A rubber plant can complement this energy and may be placed in the northwest zone of the home. Rubber plants are also traditionally associated with abundance and prosperity."

Number 3 Homes: Warm, Expressive Energy (Jupiter)

"The number 3 is associated with Jupiter and benefits from warm, expansive energy. Red hibiscus and red roses can be used to complement this vibration," Kalsi says.

Number 5 Homes: Communication, Business and Money (Mercury)

"The number 5 represents Mercury, the planet associated with communication, intelligence, business and commerce. Holy basil (Tulsi) placed in the northeast is considered highly protective and favorable for enhancing Mercury energy and bringing good fortune," Kalsi says.

Number 6 Homes: Love, Beauty and Luxury (Venus)

"The number 6 represents Venus, the planet of love, beauty, luxury and money. Jasmine and peace lilies, particularly those with white flowers, can be used to enhance the harmonious and attractive qualities associated with Venus," Kalsi says.

House Number 8: Discipline, Structure and Responsibility (Saturn)

"The number 8 represents Saturn, an energy associated with discipline, structure, responsibility and persistence. Saturn energy can work particularly well when balanced with Mercury (5) and Venus (6). Plants and elements associated with numbers 5 and 6 can therefore help complement and soften strong Saturn energy," Kalsi says. This can include plants like Lucky Bamboo .

House Number 9: Courage, Action and Ambition (Mars)

"The number 9 represents Mars and is strongly connected with courage, action, ambition and the color red. Red roses and red carnelian placed in the southern part of the home can be used to strengthen Mars energy and are traditionally associated with fame, achievement and success," Kalsi says.

Where to Place Your Numerology Plant for Maximum Good Energy

"The directions within a home also play an important role in home numerology and can be used to activate or balance particular planetary energies," Kalsi says.

North (Mercury): This placement is associated with business, communication and financial opportunities.
South (Mars): This placement is associated with action, courage, ambition and drive.
East (Sun): This placement is associated with vitality, recognition, confidence and success.
West (Saturn): This placement is associated with discipline, stability, responsibility and long-term results.

Kalsi adds that plants, colors and other decor that coordinate with associated planetary energy can also be strategically placed in any of the aforementioned directions to help facilitate the desired vibration. "For example, a lotus placed in the north is traditionally considered favorable for attracting prosperity and financial abundance," Kalsi says.
