When you first step into the Grand Hall on Embarkation Day, your family is immediately greeted by T'Challa's kingdomwith booming cheers—the design team calls it a hero's welcome. "T'Challa and the world of Wakanda introduce you to the Destiny—our kingdom on the seas," said Beth Burkhardt, Disney Cruise Line Interior Design Managerin a panel discussion at Sagatheater aboard the Destiny. But that's not all you'll find in the Grand Hall. From day to night, the lighting shifts from regal golds to moody blues—or even neon green should a villain make their appearance. And if you linger after dark, you might catch the Kiss Goodnight —a sweet nightly light show that turns the hall into pure Disney magic.

2. Villains Take the Stage

For the first time, Disney guests actually meet villains at sea—they're no longer just background characters. You can sip a cocktail with Cruella at De Vil's Piano Bar(look for the car-inspired pilasters and hidden Dalmatian spots), play cards with Dr. Facilieror find yourself temporarily ruled by Loki, who's claimed the ship as his own. "Villains are not huggable—and that is awesome," said Jen Bascom, Disney Live Entertainment and Experiences Creative Director. "The entertainment opportunities are just awesome."

3. Every Stairwell Tells a Story

Even the staircases are secret art galleries. The forward stairs are devoted to villains—note the green, red and purple tones and angular shapes—while the aft stairs celebrate heroes in airy blues and curves. "From Cruella's cheekbones to the shape of our balustrades, we told stories through color and line," noted Burkhardt.

4. Adults Get Their Own Mischief

From the chic Saga Theater (home to the 18-plus show With Great Power ) to fine dining at Palo Steakhouseand Enchanté, adults have plenty of playtime. But the star is De Vil's, Disney's first-ever villain-themed bar—black, white and wickedly glamorous. "She loves her spots, so we scattered them throughout for guests to discover," said Lisa Pickett, Disney Cruise Line Hotel Director.

5. Every Space Is a Stage

Entertainment seeps into every corner: learn Spider-Man's moves in the Grand Hall, join a live "Wretched Runway" for Cruella or catch bubbles, smoke and high-tech puppetry in the Walt Disney Theater. "Whether it's downstairs in the Sanctum or inside the theater—every space is a stage," said Carly Scott, Cruise Director.

6 Fun Easter Eggs You'll Find Aboard the Disney Destiny

1. Hidden Mickeys Everywhere

As with every Disney experience, Mickeyis never far away—though here, he's hiding in plain sight. You'll find Mickey Mouse silhouettes woven into the stateroom carpeting and tucked between nautical flags and graphic patterns. The creative team revealed that wherever Mickey points, it's always toward the front of the ship. Mickey motifs also appear on clocks, in corridor details and even in lighting fixtures.

And while Mickey may be the original hero, Hero Minniemakes her debut on the ship's bow, while Spider-Manswings into action on the stern—marking the first-ever Marvel character featured on a Disney Cruise Line ship hull.

2. Lightning Bolts for the Villains

Look closely at the lighting bolts incorporated into the ship's décor and carpeting—they're not just design flourishes. Each bolt also points forward toward the bow, symbolizing the energy and motion of the ship while nodding to the villain side of the "heroes and villains" theme.

3. Seven Heroes and Seven Villains

Because Disney Destiny is the seventh ship in the fleet, the number seven appears throughout as a subtle motif. The design team says guests can spot seven heroes represented in certain areas—and seven villains in others .Heroes are symbolized through lighter details and colors, while villains are represented by darker tones, orbs and angular accents. Keep count as you explore—you might just find them all.

4. Secrets at Cask and Cannon

The new Cask and Cannonbar on Deck 5 is a treasure trove of hidden details for sharp-eyed sailors. In its ceiling murals and wall art, you'll spot seven ships—one for every vessel in Disney's fleet. And in true Imagineering fashion, I was told by a theater crew member that since Disney Destiny is hull number 706, that number appears as a subtle nod—most notably in a painted inscription that reads "Est. 1706"—though I didn't have a chance to spot it myself.

5. A Haunted Mansion Guest Star

Inside the Haunted Mansion Parlor, the spooky, shipwreck-themed bar inspired by the Magic Kingdom classic, look for a few ghostly surprises. The mirror behind the bar occasionally reveals undead passengers and the portraits on the walls follow your gaze as you move. But the sweetest Easter egg is a familiar friend: Lumière, the Beauty and the Beast candelabra, glowing proudly among the gothic décor—a wink to Disney fans who love a crossover moment.

6. A Secret Club 33 Menu at the Sanctum

First seen aboard the Disney Treasure, Tori at at MickeyBlog.com noticed that this hidden gem made its way onto Destiny too. At Sanctum, the Doctor Strange -themed cocktail lounge, guests can unlock a secret menu on the bar's iPad drink list by tracing the number "33" on the screen—an homage to Disney's exclusive Club 33 . The hidden menu features a handful of exclusive cocktails like the Ocean Liner, a shocking-blue drink made with curaçao and lemon that delivers a pucker-worthy punch worthy of the Sorcerer Supreme himself.
