One mom is proving that a little money goes a long way — especially when it comes to solving picture day drama.

Alexis Nebeling tells PEOPLE that while her daughter Emma, 4, typically "loves to pose for pictures," she wasn't exactly up for the task this year. As seen in a now-viral video on TikTok , Alexis took matters into her own hands and bribed her little girl with $2 to cooperate and smile for picture day.

Emma can be seen standing in the bathroom crying, clutching her $2 as she got ready for her photos. The following slide proved that the bribe worked, as Emma adorably smiled in her school pictures, and the results were perfection.

"She initially did not want to pose for picture day and did not want me to do her hair," Alexis, who also shares daughter Samantha, 6, with husband Richard Nebeling, tells PEOPLE. "I offered her $2 if she smiled for the photographer, and she accepted it while she had tears streaming down her face."

Alexis says this isn't the first time she's had to bribe her daughter.

"In the past, I have had to bribe her for our family photo shoots, which always seem to work out in my favor," she says with a laugh.

Last year's picture day was different, however, as the mom of two says Emma was happy to pose for the photos. "Last year’s pictures came out so cute. She is so sassy and typically loves the camera."

Alexis tells PEOPLE her daughter Emma is "so much fun" and is the "perfect mix of funny and sassy but is also so loving and sweet."

"We call her our little 'flight risk' because she is always on the move and keeping us on our toes," she adds. "She loves to be silly and make us laugh."

The mom of two says she decided to film the silly moment for TikTok as it was "too cute not to record her."

"I know she will look back someday and appreciate that moment," she adds.

Commenters also agreed that the bribe was well worth it, with one user writing, "You better round that up to a solid $5! She nailed it!"
